Exploring the incredible Malpelo Reserve

This exceptional marine protected area is full of life. We can observe huge school of hammerheads sharks and different species of sharks as silky, Galapagos, whale shark, tiger, and the legendary Ferox. It’s an very healthy ecosystem with an abundance of fishs and corals reefs. 

There is only one boat at the time accepted in the whole reserve, under-crowded dives guaranteed !

Collecting scientific data

We will on board with Sandra Bessudo and the Malpelo fundation and we gonna collect data as photos id, sharks tagging, biopsy, making estimation of the sharks population during the expeditions.

Educative adventure

Sandra will present us the amazing work of the Malpelo fundation for the preservation of the Sanctuary. Their fight against the illegal fishing industry in the area. 

What’s on the Agenda?

Day 1

Meeting at the Hotel Intercontinental of Cali and departure by bus to Buenaventura to onboard on the Ferox Boat.
At night we will leave to Malpelo 

Day 2

Navigation to Malpelo

Day 3

Arriving to Malpelo at sunrise and diving
3 tanks nitrox

Day 4 to 12

Diving in Malpelo
3 tanks nitrox per day

Day 12

Departure in the afternoon to come back to Buenaventura

Day 13

Navigation to Buenaventura and arriving sunset depending on weather conditions
Bus to Cali
